To hold on to that fresh lash look all the way up until your next infill appointment we have shared below some simple, savvy tips to help you maintain a full set of healthy lashes.
A full set of lashes makes a dramatic difference to natural lashes; however, it is understandable that you may want to vamp up the volume for weekends and special occasions. However, using mascara is a big no-no. The product gets trapped between the extra lashes, making it tougher to remove at the end of the day, thus causing your lashes to fall out prematurely. The same goes for liquid eyeliner, and kohl pencil eyeliners (using on the waterline is fine though.)
Be Shower Savvy
Your technician will advise you not to get your lashes wet at all in the first 48 hours after your treatment. You should also avoid saunas, steam rooms, sunbeds and use oil free make-up remover. When the 48 hours are up and you can shower, be mindful about how you position your face towards the flow of water. Do not stand directly under the showerhead with your face up, and try not to rub your eyes with the towel afterwards. Pat your face dry and be careful not to pull around your eye area.
Skin Care Suggestions
A large amount of skin care products; eye make-up removers, cleansers, moisturisers, are oil based. Great for having gorgeous, glowing skin, not so great for lash extensions! The oily formula can loosen the bonds holding your lashes on, meaning you will need that infill appointment a lot sooner than you usually would! To prevent losing your lashes too early, use gentle, oil-free products around the eye area, and take extra care when removing eye makeup.
Slightly tricky to concentrate on whilst you are asleep, but it is important to make as much effort as possible not to disturb your lashes during the night. Position your pillows around your head to reduce the chance of crushing one side and manipulating the lashes, and avoid sleeping on your front completely.
It is important to keep on top of your infill appointments. Each treatment requires a different time period between each infill, so be sure to check this with your technician before you leave the salon, and if possible, book your infills there and then so you don’t forget. Attending regular maintenance sessions will preserve the condition of your natural lashes, as well as retaining the volume you desire. If you do decide to go back to being ‘au naturale’, our carefully formulated lash extension remover effectively and comfortably removes lash extensions, whilst conditioning your natural lashes and reducing any risk of damage
